Whilst single axle trailers have the advantage of being easier to manoeuvre when uncoupled - and it’s also worth noting that the tow bar height isn’t so important either; second hand twin axle trailers gave several advantages. Firstly, as previously mentioned, used twin axle trailers provide greater stability. Secondly, obviously, they can carry more weight – but having a twin axle also means that the position of the load isn’t quite as important as it is with single axle trailers. Similarly, not only do second hand twin axle trailers feel more controlled to tow, the load that is being carried tends to be feel more secure and stable too.

With triple axle trailers only really useful when the trailer is either very long, second hand twin axle trailers are the more obvious choice if you require extra stability or extra load weight.
